Sarah Few is married!

This weekend everyone traveled to Madison, GA for Sarah Few's wedding. Our trip began as soon as Marion and Ann arrived to our house Thursday morning. We went to pick up Germaine and we were off. Can you imagine going on an 8 hour trip with five adults in your car....what an adventure. Fortunately, for us, it was not a boat or a nine hour trip, because when we hit Atlanta and poured our first vodka and tonic we could have easily ended up on Gilligan's Island.
When we arrived the Few family and Collins family were having dinner at the restaurant right across from our hotel. We all freshened up and headed over to see them. As strange as it may sound this was my first introduction to Jeremy. I am sure he was as nervous as I. When I walked up I heard him lean over to Sarah and say, "have I met this one." What the HELL!!! Sarah have you not been showing him pictures of me? I only talk to you five times a DAY. Needless to say, everyone wanted to talk to Jeremy. So I did not get to visit much.
The next day we woke up feeling extremely rested. My sweet and most precious husband brought me breakfast in bed while my five best friends and husbands had breakfast together and i am sure reminisced on the night before. After breakfast it was time to get dressed and head to the bridesmaid luncheon. We were actually the honorary bridesmaid, because Sarah thought we were to old to be in her wedding.
The luncheon was nice. We were able to visit with Mary Frances and Indee (Sarah's sister and sister in law). Indee shared good stories about the gypsies that live outside of Augusta and Mary Frances let us know why Sarah Warren, her daughter, feels that she has the upper hand on one of her classmates. That is a story to be shared at another time:)

By the time the luncheon was over the rain had come and all of our parents had arrived. Jay, Marion, my parents and I went to watch the Rebels get their bottoms stomped one last time at the bar across the street. Sarah and her brother in law,Wes, met us for a few beverages. It is always good to hang out with Sarah's sister and brother in law. In college we made many road trips to see them. Wes still has not lost his sarcastic humor that I seem to relate to real well.
After that it was time to get dressed and head to the church for rehearsal...we ran through that...and then in was time for the party. Which Sarah's other sister,Susie, could not wait to get to. She kept asking, "do we go to the party after this one walks out?"

The rehearsal was very nice. We all were able to visit with our parents and Sarah and Jeremy's family. Many of you are not going to care about this, but it was one of my highlights. Sarah and I have been to Florida together every year for about 14 years. I think we might have missed one year out of all of those. Any who....every time we go we pass Fairhope, AL and Sarah says every time, "I have cousins that live in Fairhope." Well guess what???? I MET THEM! It was wonderful. Caroline was so nice and her two children were adorable.

Well now it is time to talk about the toast. Sarah has really made hints that maybe there would not be any and really sold me on that. So the group decided not to prepare anything. (I really feel the reason we didn't prepare is because when are all out with Sarah...we normally do not remember the next day much less 12 years later.) So that night Jeremy's friend gathers everyone in the dining area for the toast. I am freaking. I am not prepared...which means voice will crack and hands will shake. Jeremy's friend then calls my name out(thanks Germaine). I am called to the front to represent the group of girls from Ole Miss. Well you can imagine...voice was cracking and hands were shaking. I do think all in all I did pull it together. It was very easy to talk about Sarah and let her know how excited and thrilled we were and that we were honored to be apart of the whole weekend.

Now it is the next morning and it is wedding day. The rain came in so we just went to the bar and drank. The preacher was there and called everyone and their parents out for drinking. All of the parents were into the "juice" and we were worried if they would make it to the wedding. The good thing is when my Dad gets in the "juice" I get clothes. It was wonderful two new outfits!!!

After that we head to the church. Shappley makes us late and Joyce is stressed. Just what we needed to do on Sarah's day. Of course it did not seem to bother Sarah at all. Sarah was GORGEOUS. I have never seen her look so pretty. When she walked down the aisle you could see the excitement of Jeremy. He told me afterwards that he had to wipe a tear when he turned to the preacher. Once they said I will....we were ready for the reception.

At rehearsal the wedding director said that it was up to the bride and groom and the wedding party to make this a fun day. Boy I bet she wishes she could take that back after the first song was played. I can not remember what it was, but we liked it and we were all out on the dance floor. When i got in that night I had to eat 5 bananas because my toes and legs were cramping so bad.

WHAT A BLAST IT WAS. CONGRATS TO SARAH AND JEREMY! THANK YOU FEW'S FOR A WONDERFUL AND UNFORGETTABLE WEEKEND!
